Another way to create additional streams is to take a product that you already have and expand upon it. A good example is to take an e-book that you have published, and offer it on CD. I use allot of informational CD’s in my car all the time. Plus you could offer it to handicap people as well, such as the blind. With an e-book and a CD available, especially series, you could easily qualify as an expert in that niche. And then, another possible stream, you could offer consultation on that topic or niche. Build a website that caters to newbie’s who are all but willing to pay you for your knowledge. There is yet another stream, all made from 1 e-book.

This theory is hardly new to soap opera fans–we have heard it all before. Last summer I went on a vacation up in Maine to a house my family had rented for a week. My cousin Beth visited and while she was there I discovered that Beth was one of those addicted to FarmVille. Interesting enough, my cousin doesn’t fit the typical Zynga user profile at all. She’s a special needs school teacher, single with an active social life, buckets of friends and a passion for traveling and photography. Beth was also one of the few soap opera fans in the house aside from my mother. Every day, Beth and I would stop what we were doing to tune into General Hospital and share a cocktail or two.

I believe there are YES and NO answers mixed in with both of these thought-provoking questions. Can a Canadian Small Business training organization use Twitter to build a community of entrepreneurs? How as a marketing engine to invite others to their series of webinars? How about the Chestermere REALTOR looking to expand into a new market?

At the core of social media it is all about building a community. For those business owners looking to expand and build community, then I would assume Twitter is for you amongst a hockey sock of other online services. We really need to look at what is important to small business across Canada and this is sales and marketing and then design strategies which will help lead to the end goal. I believe it is the end goal that is often missed when businesses start with sosyal medya hizmetleri.

Don’t make your blog look too crowded or your readers will go elsewhere. If you jumble everything together, trying to get the most material you can get on one page, readers will become overwhelmed. Carefully determine what is important to include on a page, and what is better reserved for the next page.

12. Resist Unimportant Chatter – This is a big one. Many folks post too much unimportant information (Ex. my dog took a pee,) private jokes, or every turn of their life. Resist the urge to share topics or issues that are likely not to have meaning to most of your audience. The reality is that most folks don’t care about your dog going to the bathroom and if you continue to post useless information you will be ignored when you want to be heard when posting something important.

Do you use Articles to call attention to your links? Get in the routine of writing an article one day and circulating it the next. This routine allows you a bit of time to evaluate your article and improve on it after a good night’s sleep.
